2014 IGEL Conference
International Society for the Empirical Study of Literature and Media
Call for papers

You are invited to send proposals for conference papers and symposia
in the following and related fields:

- Literary reading processes (emotion, cognition, personality, etc.);
- The social role of literature and related media (e.g. film, theatre,
   Internet, multimedia, virtual reality);
- Educational implications of empirical studies of literature and the media;
- Literature and media from an evolutionary perspective;
- Early literary and media socialization;
- Pedagogical and educational aspects of literature and the media;
- The processes of literary and media production, distribution and 
reception;
- The role of literary and other cultural institutions: past,
   present and future;
- The empirical study of historical reception and historical readers;
- Digital methods of research on literature and the media (text analysis,
   corpus studies, hypertext models, etc.).

Paper presentations will last 20 minutes, followed by discussion.
Symposia consist of a group of papers in one session or in the number
of sessions required.
Proposals should be submitted by January 15th 2014. A decision on 
acceptance
will be provided by March 10th 2014.
